When I saw the kitchen on the listing I immediately knew we would start in this room first!

There were 3 layers of linoleum and plastic drawer fronts.  Total gut and started from scratch in this room.  The only thing that was original was the tin ceiling...that we kept!

We set up a make-shift kitchen for 1 month and started demo after Christmas!

We uncovered this gorgeous old brick!  We actually brought the kitchen back to its original layout looking back at old photos.

Knocking down walls and demo is a good way to get out frustrations!  I've knocked down many!!!!!

We decided to put the fridge, microwave and small pantry in the once butler's pantry!  The fridge placement was an epic fail on our part.  We don't mind the location but we put it too close to the brick wall.  It's difficult to open the freezer side.  Oh well!

Trust me this counter gets cluttered quickly!  It sometimes becomes a drop zone!  We are working on trying to keep it cleared! I love my little beverage fridge! Always stocked with my Diet Coke!

These countertops are soapstone.  We have a love/hate relationship towards them. They are untreated because we like the concrete look.  They clean up easily but scratch and chip just as easily!  But they are beautiful!

We ran into many hiccups with this kitchen and it wasn't the old parts.  It was the cabinets, appliances etc. It took almost an entire year being without a working kitchen! Lots of takeout!
