Our Journey

Our Journey has been quite an emotional rollercoaster!  We are a husband and wife team that share a passion for unique pieces to incorporate into our many project and design elements or sell items at the countless shows we have set up for at Brimfield.  Both of us bring our strengths to the table when it comes to running successful events, businesses and projects during our ongoing labor of love from the moment we purchased the parsonage!

Paul and I both teach full time,  buy and sell antiques, do interior design on the side as well as run an Airbnb! You can imagine how busy our lives are and surprisingly we are still married!  We had been wanting to move out of Westfield for a fresh start.  Believe it or not my dream space has always been to live in something more modern like and industrial warehouse or a building such as a barn, church  etc. that we could make into a home.  It would be a bonus to have a space large enough to have our antique business "Vintage White" as well as enough storage to house inventory for interior design projects.

The hunt for a new place began in the fall of 2016!  Paul was so good about browsing the real estate sites and we did drive by many places.  Most (ok all) of the places we looked at were in pretty rough shape.  Definitely most people would not enter the buildings but I have the type of mind that can see beyond the dirt, crumbling walls and piles of animal droppings or remains! (Not kidding) I look at the potential with large windows, tall ceilings, exposed brick and wide open space!  We found the coolest building in Easthampton (the water works building on the river). Too many hoops to jump through.  Another place was a very nice farm that had a perfect set up for all our needs...it had a huge price tag!  There was a warehouse in Ware, Ma that we even put a deposit on! Thankfully we asked the surrounding businesses some questions that revealed huge problems with the building!  Loved a book store in Hatfield...hesitated and it was already sale pending.  All of these drive bye's, showings, browsing the internet was very frustrating and sometimes felt like we were never going to move!

Then it happened!  A new listing for a property popped up on Paul's phone.  He showed me and I knew we needed to go see it!  We were just a week back in school and also had our September Brimfield!  Our realtor Heather Witalisz from Witalisz and Associates set up a showing on the Sunday after we finished Brimfield.  That was September 10, 2017.  We would love to share our story with you from the moment we stepped foot into this beautiful home!

To be continued...
